About Titus
I’m
probably a lot like you, on the surface, you might think I’m an average guy—but
my life experience has been anything but average.
I was
raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana by my mom. I've talked to my dad
a few times in my life. Growing up in a single parent household was
not always easy, there were good
times and hard times, we struggled externally at
times, but never internally when money was
short. But that didn’t stop her from making
sure I understood the difference from not having money, and being poor.
We were rich in our mind, and she was able to instill in me through words
and by example that anything was possible. With those seeds planted and
skills developing the opportunity to attend Bishop Sullivan
private school surfaced. There, I began to excel from
day one not only in the classroom, but on the basketball court.
As an all American point guard at Bishop Sullivan,
I was recruited by every major college program in the country—eventually earning
a full-scholarship to play basketball at the University of Texas in Austin.
At that time, my scholarship package was believed to be the highest ever
rewarded to a Louisiana athlete. In 2006, I was
honored by my former high school as the first—and only—player to be named into
the Gold Hall of Fame. I received this same honor at the
collegiate level in 2008.
After college, I was picked up as a free agent by the Boston
Celtics. I later took my career overseas to the European
Basketball League where I won a European Championship and was named….player of
year and all league import. Since leaving professional
sports, I have launched a career as a movie actor, including a supporting role
in the film Glory Road¸ where I played famed NBA player JoJo White.
While I made the decision to retire from professional sports, sports didn’t leave me.
I’ve taken what I’ve learned—and applied—on and off the court, into a
personalized training program for young athletes. I help
athletes develop and refine their basketball skills, but I specialize in
building the mental preparation and stamina needed to convert the fundamentals
of basketball into the fundamentals of overall achievement.
Most
recently, I’ve just completed my first book—Don’t Talk About It, Be About It—where
I’ve broken down my proven training techniques into an easy-to-understand
formula for success.
Bottom line, like you, I’ve dealt with adversity, faced challenges and I’ve had
to believe in myself, even if others didn’t. I’ve been where
you are. But, I’ve become successful because I see myself
as a giant and I continue to take big steps that move me forward.
What's next for me? You never know what I might accomplish
next—but keep watching!
